The itinerary leads towards Berat, a beautiful city-museum, also known as the “city of a thousand windows”, due to the hundreds of windows that are placed one above the other.
Berat is a UNESCO World Heritage Site celebrated for its beautifully preserved Ottoman architecture; this coupled with its idyllic locale on the banks of the Osumi River make it one of Albania’s must-see destinations.
It features a castle, locally known as the Kala, most of which was built in the 13th century, although its origins date back to the 4th century BC.
Visit of the castle and of the famous National Iconographic Museum ONUFRI. A brief city tour of Berat. Lunch in restaurant. Continuation to Apollonia. Visit of this ancient city that hosts one of the most important archaeological sites in the country.
Return to Tirana. Drop off at the hotel.
